Mobile Features
The Omnixi mobile app includes several features that are unique to mobile — or work better on a phone than in a browser. This page explains what they are and how to use them.
Push notifications
Section titled “Push notifications”Push notifications deliver real-time updates to your phone so you don’t need to check the app manually.
Types of notifications
Section titled “Types of notifications”| Notification | What triggers it |
|---|---|
| Ticket update | A reply has been added to one of your support tickets |
| Order status change | An order you placed has moved to a new stage (e.g. provisioning, complete) |
| Invoice ready | A new invoice has been generated on your account |
| Service alert | One of your services has changed status (e.g. suspended or restored) |
| Contract expiry | A contract is coming up for renewal |
Tapping a notification takes you directly to the relevant screen — for example, tapping a ticket notification opens that ticket.
Managing notification preferences
Section titled “Managing notification preferences”Go to More → Settings → Notifications to choose which types of notifications you receive. You can turn individual categories on or off.
Biometric login
Section titled “Biometric login”Once enabled, you can unlock the app using Face ID (iPhone) or Touch ID / fingerprint (iPhone and Android) instead of typing your password each time.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- When you open the app while already logged in, you’ll be prompted to authenticate with your face or fingerprint
- If biometric authentication fails three times in a row, the app falls back to your email and password
- Your preference is stored securely on your device
Enabling or disabling biometric login
Section titled “Enabling or disabling biometric login”Go to More → Settings to toggle biometric login on or off at any time.
Quick actions
Section titled “Quick actions”Quick actions let you jump straight into common tasks without opening the app first.
On iPhone: press and hold the Omnixi icon on your home screen to reveal the quick action menu.
On Android: press and hold the Omnixi icon in your app drawer or on your home screen.
Available quick actions
Section titled “Available quick actions”| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| New Ticket | Opens the new support ticket form |
| Call Support | Calls the Omnixi support line directly |
| AI Assistant | Opens the AI assistant chat, ready for your question |
Offline access
Section titled “Offline access”When your phone has no internet connection, the app shows a banner at the top of the screen to let you know you’re offline.
While offline:
- You can view data that was already loaded — screens you’ve visited recently will still show their last-fetched content
- Actions that require a connection (submitting a ticket, placing an order, loading fresh data) won’t work until you reconnect
When your connection is restored, the banner disappears and data refreshes automatically.
Voice input
Section titled “Voice input”In the AI assistant, you can speak your question instead of typing it.
- Open More → AI Assistant
- Tap the microphone icon in the chat input bar
- Speak your question clearly
- The app converts your speech to text and sends it to the AI
This is particularly useful when you’re on the move and don’t want to type a long question.
SIM barcode scanning
Section titled “SIM barcode scanning”When placing a SIM swap order, the app can scan the barcode on a physical SIM card to fill in the ICCID automatically.
- Start a new SIM swap order
- When prompted for the new SIM details, tap Scan SIM
- Point your camera at the barcode on the SIM card
- The ICCID is filled in automatically
Tap to call
Section titled “Tap to call”On the service detail screen and on support tickets, phone numbers appear as tappable links.
Tapping a phone number opens your phone’s dialler with the number pre-filled — just tap call.
Download and share documents
Section titled “Download and share documents”From the More → Documents section, you can download invoices and other documents to your device.
- Open More → Documents
- Tap the document you want
- Tap Download to save it, or Share to send it to another app (e.g. email, WhatsApp, Files)
Downloaded files can be viewed offline at any time.
Dark mode
Section titled “Dark mode”The app follows your device’s system appearance setting automatically.
- If your phone is set to Dark Mode, the app uses a dark theme
- If your phone is set to Light Mode, the app uses the light theme
There is no separate setting to override this in the app — change your system appearance in your device settings.
